This position requires someone with a passion for all things South & Pine and the ability to help customers with creating the perfect gift and styling and accessorizing their home. They need to exhibit excellent communication skills and have the ability to engage with customers to build authentic relationships and loyal customers. Additionally, they need to be able to work in a collaborative team environment while also being personally accountable. The ideal person will be someone that is self-motivated, energetic, and models passion and commitment to deliver an experience. This role has a variety of responsibilities and required skills including (but not limited to):
Responsibilities:
- Deliver exceptional customer service by engaging with our guests and assisting with product selections
- Be knowledgable about product assortment, vendor information and custom orders process in order to confidently sell and style our items
- Work individually and as a team to achieve/exceed daily/monthly sales goals for the store
- Promptly and professionally respond to customer inquiries and order follow-up via phone and email
- Process inventory and merchandise shop
- Perform opening and closing procedures – keep store clean, neat and inviting
- Planning, prep and execution of shop events and workshops
- Follow all policies and procedures
Requirements:
- Passionate about building relationships with our customers and delivering impeccable customer service
- Knowledgeable about decor and styling
- Excellent communication skills, including active listening
- Ability to work with urgency while balancing multiple tasks
- Patience, professionalism, and a positive attitude
- Proficient use of POS system on an iPad (Shopify experience a plus)
- Strong collaboration skills and working as a team player
- The ability to work 8-20 hours a week during the hours that the shop is open, Monday to Saturday 10am-6pm. That includes Saturdays (min 2/month) and events.
- Previous retail experience and working with customers a plus but not required
